Lyrical Inspiration

Last week I got to share my playlist, and what top tracks had me tapping my feet and snapping my fingers throughout the week.

This week I would like to unpack lyrics.  I want to share how songs have impacted us lyrically and how their meanings have resonated with us on a deeper level.

I am not one to listen attentively to lyrics and dissect their meanings, I am more of a melody and instrumental type of person however certain musical lyrics are just so moving and emotive I cannot help but be captivated. This song is a personal favorite of mine and has come to represent so much through my transformative journey in the past 10 months.

Tasha Cobbs Leonard- This Is a Move.

When I first heard this song, I was a mess. I was on the verge of a mental breakdown and holding on for dear life on a very thin and volatile thread, however stumbling upon this song and hearing it for the first time immediately calmed the chaos. These lyrics personally described my surrendered heart, ready and willing to actively live out the life that I was created to live. Making way for the Sovereign God to do what He does best- make the impossible, possible and tap into His purpose for my life moving me into His greatness. This move began 10 months ago and is still an ongoing move daily. I am constantly compelled and led to move into uncharted territory that both scare but empower me more and more each day. My life is dedicated to having God work miracles in my surroundings, miracles that transform and change my life in remarkable ways.  When He is involved, it is a MOVE.

Just like fiction, musical lyrics can also be heard and experienced as a beautiful story, with a special and unique meaning to each of us. We all have a story to tell, why not tell it with the perfect soundtrack.
