You’re Not Recharging. You’re Hiding

There is a difference between withdrawing to be with God and withdrawing from life.

Sometimes we tell ourselves we’re “just recharging,” but if we’re honest, we’ve been hiding. The unanswered messages pile up. Invitations go ignored. Our world slowly becomes smaller as fear, disappointment, exhaustion, or past wounds convince us that isolation is safer than connection.

But hiding has never been God’s design.

Jesus didn’t come so we could merely survive behind walls of self-protection. He came that we might have life—and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Abundant life isn’t just about existing; it’s about being fully present. Present with God. Present with others. Present in the purpose He has called us to.

Healing isn’t simply learning how to cope. It’s allowing Christ to restore the places where pain taught us to disconnect. As He heals us, He gently invites us back into community, back into relationships, and back into the beautiful, messy gift of real life.

If you’ve been hiding, know this: shame doesn’t have the final word. Grace does.

Today, take one small step toward connection. Send the text. Answer the call. Go for the coffee. Join the community. Let someone see you.

Because healing isn’t found in disappearing. It’s found in the presence of the One who restores us—and often through the people He places around us.

Stop hiding. Start living.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” — John 10:10
